Silver Level Sponsor 2014: See Me Scotland

Judith Robertson, Director ‘see me’

‘see me’ is a lead sponsor of the event in 2014. We have now been supporting Men’s 10k for a number of years, because the event is an excellent way to promote men’s health, including their mental health, in an engaging and positive way. We know that men engage with mental health messages and get involved in discussions better “shoulder to shoulder”, when doing activities, than “face to face”. The event has huge appeal whether participants are doing it for the first time or setting a new personal best. For ‘see me’, the anticipation, excitement and camaraderie that surrounds the day make it a fantastic event to help raise awareness of mental health stigma and break down barriers.

BS web-125x125px[1]  Bronze Level Sponsor 2014: Breathing Space

Breathing Space is a free, confidential phone and web based service for anyone in Scotland experiencing low mood, anxiety or depression. We are here to provide a safe and supportive space by listening, offering advice and providing information.

Tony McLaren, Breathing Space/ Living Life National Coordinator said:
“We are delighted to be supporting the Men’s 10K again this year. There’s always a good atmosphere and it’s a great way to encourage men to look after their health. Running not only helps your physical fitness but can also boost your mental wellbeing by producing natural ‘feelgood’ chemicals in the brain. We are looking forward to taking part – look out for ‘Team Breathing Space’ on the day.”
