This year The Men’s 10k Festival will need even more to help to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival of physical activity. We are looking for people to help with a number of events (or all of them if you’re up for it). Please see below for a list of job roles that is required as each event. All volunteers will be given refreshments on the day. (If our budgets allow an event crew t-shirt will also be given to each volunteer)

3.33k Training event. Venue to be confirmed.
Various jobs from 9 am – 11 am.
Saturday 26th April
6.66k Training event. Venue to be confirmed.
Various jobs from 9 am – 11 am.
Saturday 14th June
The Family 3k and The Men’s 5k plus health expo.
Bellahouston Park. Various jobs from 10 am – 6 pm.
Sunday 15th June
The Rascal Run and The Men’s 10k plus health expo
Bellahouston Park. Various jobs from 8 am – 1 pm.

Men’s Health Forum Scotland is a small charity with 3 part-time members of staff and it is only due to the strong partnerships we have and great support from our band of volunteers that we are able to stage The Men’s 10k Festival every year.
The volunteers we have had over the past number of years have been so brilliant, something that has even been commented on by other event organisers!
We would be delighted if you were able to help us deliver The Men’s 10k Festival; if
there isn’t anything you find on the list below that suits you, but you would like to be involved in some other way, please get in touch.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help promote The Men’s 10k Festival.
This could mean promoting the event to your own contacts through websites/ social media and email, or in person which would include handing out flyers and a lot of smiling! We can give you a quick briefing about what the ethos behind The Men’s 10k Festival, so you are able to answer some of the questions you may be asked.
Events we’d like to target are in the following places;
- Shopping Centres (information stand, taking registrations)
- Other Running Events
NB: date and venues will be posted nearer the time
Letter Drop – Bellahouston Area
Date to be confirmed (usually 2 weeks before the 10k): we will be delivering a letter to the local residents around the area of the event, just to let them know it’s happening, and what, road/ parking/ access restrictions will be in place. The more people we have, the quicker we’ll get it done, so please bring a few friends!
T-shirt Packing and Postage
All Men’s 10k Festival merchandise will be packed and posted out the first week of June in time for everyone to wear their shirts on event day. As we normally sell more than 500 shirts it would be great to have a few extra hands to help us fulfuill this job on time.
Event Day Roles
Route Stewards – Stewards are situated around the route (s) and are there to ensure the participants go in the correct direction as well as encouraging the men to keep going! We have had great feedback from men in previous years about how a friendly cheer from a steward really helped them on their way!
Bag Drop Tent – We need a couple of volunteers to stand at the door of the bag drop tent.
